I know what some of you are thinking — in 2020. Email is probably over, right?
I get it, that answer may be surprising.
After all, the rise of social media and new platforms like Tiktok has been getting a lot of attention and users are growing on those platforms every day.
But with that, these are also growing:
Algorithm trickiness. The numbers game. Posts going unseen.
In the midst of all this, the one platform that remains classic: email.
One reason why I love email is that it’s the only platform that ensures that your messages are seen in the order they are received, unlike social media. If you’re good at it (meaning, you send emails that people open and enjoy receiving), you’ll get solid engagement, too.
If you’re a small business owner or social media influencer or blogger that’s only ever relied on things like Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, or TikTok to be visual and in front of your audience, don’t fret. Email can seem “boring” and “outdated”, but I promise you that emails can be interesting and enjoyable, and I also promise you that email is not outdated. Nope. Nada. Everyone still uses it.
And in the name of marketing? Email is going to kick. the butt. of social media.
